Housekeeping

The fulltime personnel will clean the house, wash dishes, making beds etc. They can also assist with cleaning seafood, washing your car and doing your laundry.

Bathroom towels, toilet paper and Egiptian cotton linnen will be supplied. Please bring your own beach towels.

The kitchen is well-equiped: AEG 900 Gas Stove and Oven, 2 Fridge Freezer combos, Microwave, Nespresso Machine, Deep Fryer, Blender, Mixer and various other appliances and high-end Cookware.

Supplies

There are two well stocked supermarkets, Spar and Yum Yum, about 15 and 20 minutes drive from the house where you can buy basically anything you need. There is also a filling station, pharmacy, butchery, bakery and ATM near the Tofo/Barra junction. In season fruits and vegetables as well as fresh seafood are also usually available from vendors.

There are also several great restuarants in the Barra and Tofo area. Chill at Farol beach bar is only 400 meters from Aqua Vista.

Traveling to Aqua Vista

Aqua Vista, in the Inhambane area, is 567km from the Komatipoort/Ressano Garcia border and it is about an 8 hour drive.

A 4x4 or AWD is recommended as you need to travel the last 2.2 kilometers on a sand road to reach the house. A 4x4 or AWD will also be handy to explore the beautiful Barra area properly. A location pin and general traveling tips will be sent to you once you have made a booking.

Traveling in Mozambique

At all times while in Mozambique, stick to the laws and in particular the traffic laws and speed limits. Wear your seatbelt at all times, ensure you have your reflective jacket and triangles on you as well as all your paperwork in the vehicle.

Currency

The local currency is the Mozambique Metical (or Meticais). While South African Rands and US Dollars are accepted in some establishments, it is usually at poor exchange rates and therefore not recommended. Most restuarants and other formal establishments accept Mastercard and Visa. Remember to inform your bank that you will be using these facilities and/or credit card facilities while you are abroad There are two ATM's at the Barra/Tofo road junction.

Mozambique Climate

Mozambique enjoys a tropical climate. The area around Inhambane and Barra enjoys mostly hot sunny weather.

Summer months are very popular, making beaches and restaurants a little busier than usual. The average temperature is around 28 °C.
